Review Mixed Texture



Mixed Texture consists of multiple melodic voices plus chordal harmony. Both vertical and horizontal relationships are present among notes in different voices

The example below shows mixed texture, since there is more than one melodic voice, along with chordal harmony. The original melody is in the top voice, the countermelody is in the middle voice, and the bottom voice contains the chords of the harmonic ostinato. Click the play arrow to hear the example.
