Review Homophonic Texture



Homophonic Texture consists of a melody with chordal accompaniment, or chordal harmony alone.

The example below shows homophonic texture, since melody is present, plus chordal accompaniment.

Pure Homophonic Texture



Chordal harmony alone is also homophonic texture. If the melody and the harmonic voice(s) move together with similar rhythm, like in the example below, the texture is homophonic.
